New Year’s Message from the Chairman – January 2026

A Message to all Players, Members, Parents, Sponsors and Supporters

As we begin 2026, I extend my best wishes to everyone connected with Great Harwood Cricket Club. The new year offers a moment to reflect on our progress and plan for the season ahead.

Reflections on 2025

Last year brought notable achievements across the club. Our junior teams showed excellent development, with several age groups reaching cup finals and winning leagues, demonstrating the strength of our Hawks Cricket Academy.

The women’s team had their most successful season to date, securing dual League titles and showing impressive growth in both skill and participation numbers. Their progress reflects the club’s commitment to developing cricket for all.

While our 1stXI maintained their position in the league, our 2ndXI faced relegation after a challenging season. This provides motivation for rebuilding and aiming for promotion in 2026.

Looking to 2026

The coming season presents clear objectives. We’ll focus on consolidating our junior and women’s successes while working to strengthen our senior men’s sides. The 2ndXI will be targeting immediate promotion back to their previous division.

Our off-field work continues with ground maintenance and facility improvements to ensure we provide the best possible environment for cricket.

I thank all players, volunteers, sponsors and supporters for their ongoing commitment. Your contributions make this club what it is, and I look forward to sharing another season with you all.

Best wishes for 2026, and hope to see you soon
