Despite rain in the morning, play commenced on time with GHCC bowling first.
Tanvir and Adam Newton opened the bowling but with no success.
Mark Leach replaced Adam Newton and it wasn’t long before he got a wicket (caught and bowled). The Ramsbottom openers put on 55 for the first wicket.
With Ramsbottom scoring steadily captain Russ turned to Ethan and Alex to try and make a breakthrough. It soon came with the latter picking up 2 wickets reducing Rammy to 128-3.
Shovey was up next to try and get some wickets and did so with a caught and bowled reducing Rammy to 150-4.
A rain interruption meant that the overs were reduced to 43 but GHCC found it difficult to get wickets. Tanvir returned for a second spell and was finally rewarded picking up 2 quick wickets.
Ramsbottom definitely had the better of the 1st innings closing on 248.
GHCC started well with Mas and Shakeel opening the batting but with rain disrupting the second innings GHCC were unable to get any momentum. Shakeel eventually fell for 13.
Solo, Ethan and Russ came and went without troubling the scorers and when Mas went for 39 it looked like it would be a disappointing day for GHCC.
Shovey added 23 and Leachy added 1 before getting out.
Adam Newton and Ben Rogers were at the crease and GHCC 100-7 before the rain eventually brought an end to proceedings, and Adam’s hopes of a huge innings, giving Ramsbottom the win under the Duckworth-Lewis method
