We’re happy to report that Daniel Briggs has returned to the club, following 4 seasons at the other end of Lee Lane with Rishton.
A spin bowler, Daniel played as a junior at Great Harwood before moving to Rishton to play alongside his father in 2015. He took 5-39 against ourselves at Blackburn Road in 2018.
Asked about the move, Daniel said ‘I’m glad to be back home. I enjoyed 4 seasons at Rishton but it was time to move on. I’m hoping to make an impact back here at GHCC and I’m ready for the new season to begin.’
Chairman Stuart Maher said ‘We are delighted to welcome Danny back to the club after his short stint at our near neighbours Rishton.
We were disappointed when he left, having invested a lot of time in him as a junior player, but understood the reasons for his decision at the time.
Like all players who decide their immediate futures may lie at another club, we always leave the door open for a return, in case the grass isn’t quite as green on the other side as they thought it might be.
Having spoken at length with Danny, he understands what we are trying to build here at Great Harwood and is looking forward to rejoining our squad of players to push for a 1st XI place’
